Dear citizens of Rolesville,

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for re-election as your commissioner. Over the past 8 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside You, my fellow commissioners, town staff, and local businesses to create a community we can all be proud of. Together, we have made incredible strides in shaping Rolesville into the thriving town it is today.

As we look to the future, I am excited about the opportunity to continue this important work and build on our past endeavors. We must remain steadfast in our commitment to responsible, careful, and respectful growth, while always keeping in mind what makes our town so special. That’s why I am calling on you to support me in this upcoming election to build a better Rolesville. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for ourselves and for future generations.

But I cannot complete this next journey without your help. I need your support, your energy, and your ideas in order to accomplish the next level of this journey. Let’s work together to create a community that is not only prosperous, but also welcoming, inclusive, and compassionate.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to earning your vote.

PLATFORM & ISSUES

Affordable Housing

I strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live in a home of their choice, in a safe neighborhood, at a price that is economically affordable and accessible. That’s why I continue to keep affordable housing at the top of my platform. I understand that affordable housing is an ongoing issue not just in our community, but worldwide. To address this issue, we have formed an ad-hoc team that I am a member of, that is currently working with members of our county to define what affordable housing is and how it impacts our community.

Our goal is to work with future developers in creating an affordable product that will provide housing for many groups who are constantly being outpriced in today’s market. We understand that many families are being displaced and replaced out of their homes due to landlords who show no mercy in terms of how high their rental rates go, and developers who keep buying up our raw land and selling at above-market rates.

I believe that accessible housing is a fundamental right, and I am committed to finding solutions that work for everyone in our community. I will continue to work tirelessly with our partners to ensure that affordable housing is one day, sooner than later, accessible to all.

Continuing to Build Relationships with Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs

Rolesville entrepreneurial spirit is thriving, and I am proud to be a part of it. As your commissioner, I have personally witnessed the incredible growth of our local businesses, and I’m honored to be a part of this vibrant community, with my own brick-and-mortar business. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, our entrepreneurs have persevered and continued to thrive. I am proud to have supported the Rolesville Chamber and other local organizations in their efforts to foster a supportive and collaborative environment for our entrepreneurs. Together, we have built a town that is both socially and economically strong. I promise to continue to support our entrepreneurs and watch our town shine!

Restaurants, Commercial Business, and Industry

As a commissioner of Rolesville, one of my primary goals has been to bring in more commercial and retail businesses to our town. Despite being considered a ‘bedroom community,’ I firmly believe that Rolesville has the potential to offer its citizens a wide range of amenities. My first 4 years, I was tasked with working with our economic development consultant and picking up where a past economic development committee left off in hopes of learning how to position Rolesville in front of other commercial and retail businesses. Often times, I would have to travel to different cities and states to pitch Rolesville to promote Rolesville’s potential for future businesses.

In my current role as the liaison for our planning board, I have been able to gain valuable insights into what developers have planned for our town. My goal is to ensure that their projects align with our Strategic plan, which outlines our vision for Rolesville’s growth and development over the next several years. By working collaboratively with developers, we can ensure that any new additions to our town are practical, beneficial, and in line with our overall vision.

I am excited about the future of Rolesville and the potential for growth and development in our town. As a commissioner, I will continue to work hard to attract new businesses and amenities to our community, while ensuring that any new developments are in line with our Strategic plan and the needs of our citizens.
